An arresting sight for Addenbrooke's Charity!

By: Amanda Howarth

Cambridgeshire police were called into action today when some well-known faces from the Ely business community found themselves on the wrong side of the law – but all in the name of charity!

Nearly £3500 was raised for Addenbrooke's and the Rosie hospitals when 6 brave souls volunteered to take part in a charity event, Jail and Bail, organised by Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust (ACT) in aid of Addenbrookes and the Rosie hospitals.

Ward Gethin Archer Partner John Thorogood from the Ely branch was arrested for 'Crimes against Lycra' with offences of wearing lycra in public during his various walking/hiking/cycling activities.

So far, John has raised over £555.00 in bail money in support of Addenbrooke's. If you would like to donate please visit John's page at: https://www.justgiving.com/John-Thorogood1/

John commented

"I was very pleased to support a local and very worthwhile charity and hope they manage to raise a lot of money from today’s arrests”.

John is based at our Ely branch and has since been 'bailed' he is now fully available to assist with the communities’ needs!
