Solicitor Richard is new YMCA Norfolk chair

YMCA Norfolk has appointed West Norfolk Law Society president Richard Pennington as the new chairman for its board of trustees to replace outgoing chair David Ingham.

The handover took place at a board meeting on November 30 in Norwich.

YMCA Norfolk chief executive, Tim Sweeting, said: "David has made a massive contribution to the association over many years during which time we grown enormously, most recently with the opening of Norwich Central YMCA. He has helped ensure the association is robust and vibrant and looking to the future. We thank him for all his efforts on behalf of the organization.

"I look forward to working with Richard to further establish the YMCA as an agent of positive change for young people and their communities across the county."

Richard, who is a partner with King's Lynn solicitors Ward Gethin, said: "I am excited about the challenge of helping YMCA Norfolk move its important work forward right across the county from King's Lynn to Yarmouth and Thetford, not forgetting Norwich."

Richard has over 20 years of experience in litigation and financial issues, is a trained mediator and President of the West Norfolk and King's Lynn Law Society.

He is a previous chairman of trustees for the YMCA in King's Lynn, a trustee of a number of local charities, a member of the Lawyers Christian Fellowship and an elder at Snettisham Christian Fellowship.
