James Macwhirter

About Me

I have lived and worked in Norfolk for around 20 years.

My passions are music (particularly 60s and 70s soul and rare groove) and coarse fishing.

When not on the riverbank, I enjoy visiting the Norfolk coast with my wife and friends.

My Work History & Experience

I qualified as a solicitor in 1999 having graduated from Bristol University and have worked within a legal environment for 22 years.

I now specialise in private client law, and have done for the past 6 years, having spent the preceding years as a criminal defence advocate.

My Time at Ward Gethin Archer

In July 2017, I joined the firm as a Private Client Solicitor in the Heacham office.

In particular, I advise on tax efficient, flexible and protective wills, and powers of attorney alongside the efficient administration of estates.

I will shortly be undertaking the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) examinations.

What I Can Do For You

I help private individuals, trustees, executors and business owners.

Clients have a wide range of aims and priorities and I pride myself on being able to prioritise their concerns and objectives quickly in an approachable and down-to-earth manner.

It is important to me that my clients feel at ease discussing what can be emotive and sensitive issues. I work hard to ensure that I tailor my advice to those individual concerns and objectives.
